🌹 Give Your Roses Some Love This October

Spring is an exciting time for rose growers. With the warmer weather encouraging fresh growth, October is a great month to give your roses the care they need for a spectacular flowering season.

Feed regularly:
Roses are hungry plants, and a good rose fertiliser will help encourage healthy foliage, strong growth and plenty of flowers.

Water deeply:
As temperatures rise, make sure your roses receive sufficient water. Water deeply at the base of the plant rather than wetting the foliage wherever possible.

Deadhead spent blooms:
Removing faded flowers encourages many roses to produce more blooms and keeps the plant looking neat and healthy.

Watch for pests and disease:
Keep an eye out for aphids, fungal problems and other common rose pests. Catching problems early makes them much easier to manage.

Mulch around your plants:
A layer of good-quality mulch helps retain moisture, protect the roots and improve the soil as it breaks down.
